The cost of peonies
Peonies are plants well known for their wonderful flowers, but they also have beautiful foliage and very large and lush shrubs. They are very suitable both for a small garden where they stand out for their beauty and particularity and for larger gardens where they can be grouped in bushes, perhaps with flowers of different colors. But simply talking about peony is likely to be an understatement. Under this name there are many different species.
This is one of the reasons why the cost of this plant varies so much. They are mainly herbaceous and shrub plants that develop in the northern hemisphere, but are also widespread in hilly and wooded areas, such as in some parts of Italy where there are peony plants with beautiful purple flowers. In addition, many hybrid species are found in nurseries, which increases their cost considerably.
The cultivation of peonies
Peony is a herbaceous plant that can be safely grown in the home garden and does not involve an excessive waste of time. Clearly it must not even be left to itself otherwise in a short time we will find our plant dry and unrecoverable. It can also grow in cold climates but not in areas where night frosts are frequent. They must be exposed to the sun for most of the day, even if a little penumbra does not occasionally hurt.
The soil must not have particular characteristics, the peony grows quite easily in any type of soil. But the use of organic materials and some mixture of potting soil and peat can be a help for a more luxuriant growth. It is important that they are planted away from trees or large shrubs that could steal all the nourishment, not allowing the plant to develop at its best.
